of the 180 degrees you might expect:

➤ From compassion to stone
Not everyone in your life will react in the same way or at the same time to your
news. Each of us has many variables that affect our reactions. The better you know
the person, the more likely you are to know how they will react. We’ll talk more
about this matter a little later in the chapter.
